Description
Gestiftet am 31. Dezember 1850 durch König Friedrich August II. Späte Ausführung (ca. 1917) des Komturkreuzes I. Klasse, gefertigt aus vergoldetem Silber mit mehrfarbiger Emaille.
Weiß emailliertes Kreuz mit grünem Eichenlaubkranz zwischen den Armen. Vorderseitig das vergoldete Profil Herzog Albrechts III. im weißen Medaillon, umgeben von der blauen Inschrift ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS („Albert der Beherzte“). Rückseitig das sächsische Wappen im Medaillon mit Jahreszahl 1850.
Über der oberen Armspitze eine bewegliche Krone mit kurzem Original-Halsband, Öse gestempelt „FR“ (vermutlich Rothe, Wien). Maße 53,5 x 88 mm, Gewicht 52,4 g, in ausgezeichneter Erhaltung.

A white-enameled cross with a green oak leaf wreath between the arms. The obverse features the gilt profile of Duke Albrecht III within a white medallion, surrounded by the blue inscription ALBERTUS ANIMOSUS (“Albert the Courageous”). The reverse bears the Saxon coat of arms within a medallion and the date 1850.
Above the upper arm sits a movable crown with a short original neck ribbon, suspension loop marked “FR” (likely Rothe, Vienna). Dimensions: 53.5 × 88 mm, weight 52.4 g, in excellent condition.
A magnificent and rare example of Saxon order craftsmanship from the late Imperial period.
